The American Academy of Pediatrics strongly recommends immunizations as the safest and most cost-effective way of preventing disease, disability, and death. The AAP calls for the on-time, routine immunization of all children and adolescents according to its policy (Recommended Immunization Schedules for Children and Adolescents Aged 18 Years or Younger, United States).
The AAP supports regulations and laws requiring immunizations to attend childcare and school, with exemptions for specific immunizations only when medically contraindicated for an individual child. The AAP views nonmedical exemptions to school-required immunizations as inappropriate for individual, public health, and ethical reasons and advocates for their elimination.
New vaccines are evaluated by a long-standing, rigorous, and transparent process by the US Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). All available safety and efficacy data are reviewed before authorization or approval of policy recommendations.
Tri-County Pediatrics is a pro-vaccine practice. We strongly believe in the effectiveness and safety of our vaccines. All children and adolescents should be vaccinated in accordance with the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the state of Massachusetts. Tri-County Pediatric Associates tries to keep patients on the recommended vaccination schedule as closely as possible. Please do not hesitate to ask your provider about any concerns that you may have regarding vaccines and your child.
Please understand that by choosing to not vaccinate your child, you are putting your child at risk for life-threatening illness, disability and even death. Vaccines prevent disease and save lives. We are committed to ensuring the health and safety of our patients. We sincerely hope that when a parent or patient is well informed about the advantages of vaccination, no vaccine would be refused.
We will not accept any families who plan on not vaccinating their children.
